WHAT ARE DRY FEET?

Dry skin on your feet is a condition that involves peeling and chapped skin. Increasing dryness makes the skin less elastic and cracks appear more readily. From an aesthetic perspective, the feet look worse and itching or eczema may also occur. Untreated dry feet often result in problems with calluses, corns and cracked heels.

WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF THIS?

Exactly what causes dry feet is not known. We think that the fat and water content of the skin may be of significance. As we grow older, the number of sebaceous glands in the skin is reduced and thus our ability to retain moisture deteriorates. The sebaceous glands also produce fat together with the surface cells of the skin. As we get older, the activity of the sebaceous glands declines and in combination with a weakened ability to retain water, the skin on our feet becomes dryer. There is also a hereditary component. The approximately 30 percent of people who have had atopic eczema or dermatitis during childhood, have a genetic predisposition for dry and sensitive skin. In winter, when the relative humidity falls, both indoors and outdoors, the problems tend to increase in severity.

HOW WERE THESE PROBLEMS TREATED PREVIOUSLY?

A common recommendation is to avoid showering/bathing several times a day and avoid the excessive use of soap, as this tends to dry out the skin. Previously, it was recommended that you rub lotion or cream into the skin one or more times a day.

WHY SHOULD YOU TREAT YOUR FEET WITH FOOTMENDER ALL IN ONE OR FOOTMENDER ALL IN ONE DIABETIC?

Footmender® All in One and Footmender® All in One Diabetic replace former treatment options for dry feet, calluses, corns and cracked heels as the product can treat all these ailments simultaneously. Treatment is easier and less costly and you only need one daily treatment. You will see an effect within a few days, often after the very first treatment.
